Make Your Fantasy Come True: Virtual Valentine's Date

The Fantasy Date

Have you ever seen some ideal romantic getaway advertised online and imagined you could drop everything to go explore someplace exotic or breathtaking with your favorite person? Turn that fantasy into your virtual Valentine’s Day!

Planning ahead

Give each other a little fun homework. Much of the fantasy date will involve sharing your…fantasies! Imagine a fantasy destination, anywhere in the world, where you would take your date if money and reality were no objects. Then go from there. Plan your chosen date around your destination, choosing a restaurant, the food from the menu, taking a romantic walk through some special special attraction that you would die to see…

If you like going the extra mile, consider making an invitation to formally invite your special someone to join you in your fantasy. Send the invitation snail mail or make an email or free, private website/video with all the links, descriptions, etc.

Make your fantasy as detailed as you want and collect online links to images and descriptions of each aspect. Pick out the fantasy wine you will toast to each other, the fantasy clothes you will wear together. Perhaps the fantasy exotic place you will spend the night. Collect the details for your fantasy and your partner will collect the details for their fantasy, then share for use during the virtual date night.

Date Night

When you’ve exchanged fantasies, then take turns drawing each other into the experience you have in mind. You can send your written “story” to them or just describe your vision of the night to them as you both “visit” the virtual locations and talk about what you would do in each place. Then switch and go on the date that your partner has planned.

Make things even more special by adding real details to your fantasy. Have that wine you chose ready to pour! Order and wear that sexy new outfit you described. Door Dash meals to each other that are similar to the ones you were craving in your fantasy. The more reality you can add to the sexy, romantic atmosphere of the story you are sharing together, the better.

Instead of being depressed at what you can’t do for Valentine’s Day during COVID separation, have fun imagining what you would do if you could, and then do it together (virtually!)
